Summary The Product Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining an assigned product or products of MTA applications and/or infrastructure and in essence owns the product life cycle for these products. The Product Manager is responsible for managing technical IT staff assigned to design, build, and maintain one or more application-based and/or infrastructure-based products. The Product Manager, Beacon Products' focus includes the Beacon system, a Customer information system for the NYC Subway system. It provides Train Arrival information and targeted customer alert messages at countdown clocks on the B Division train line that consists of the A, B, C, D, E, F, G, J, L, M, N, Q, R W & Z lines. As trains move through the Subway tunnels, they move past virtual tripwires which are made from Bluetooth Beacons. The beacons track train movement and allows the system to predict and provide train arrival information in real time to customers on the train platforms and mobile apps. The Data is collected in the subways by the iTrack home grown system which process the information and packages it up to send it to a Drupal CMS. The Drupal application processes all the arrival information and messages intended for a specific station and routes it out to the signs at that station via a large Internet of things (IoT) data distribution hub. There are close to 2000 signs throughout the NYC Subway system which get their real time subway arrival and messaging information via the Beacon system. Alert messages can be sent via the Beacon system from the Rail Control Center to any or all of the signs connected to the system. The application uses AWS IOT, Acquia Content Delivery Platform, Azure Cloud, Piper Network platform and NYCT Transit Wireless. The Product Manager will lead the assigned staff in agile transformation and the digital agenda and develop roadmaps for the Beacon System and/or infrastructure products assigned. This position will manage a team of technical staff responsible for defining the launch of new products and services, developing technical roadmaps for existing products and delivering product features in an agile environment. The Product Manager is responsible for management, staffing and supervision of the Beacon System products. Responsibilities Enterprise Product Planning Investigate any anomalies on the train arrival information or content that goes on the signs . Perform all Drupal security and module maintenance, each update requires a full regression test. Monitor and troubleshoot reported sign issues . Integrate feeds from other systems as needed . Assist in investigating network and connectivity issues for all the signs in the field . Maintain the Acquia platform and work with Acquia to maintain the site . Rollout new code to update all 2000 signs and verify that they are all in good working condition. Lead a team of multi-functional technical staff planning, building, and maintaining application and/or infrastructure products. Lead others, as appropriate, and when necessary, that will consist of one or more agile coaches, data analytic researchers and other digital transformation personnel.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Technical Product ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
